Plasma mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a procedure aimed at improving the condition of the skin by providing it with nourishing and regenerating substances. It is one of the most frequently performed treatments in the field of dermatology and aesthetic medicine. There are needle mesotherapy, which consists in delivering hyaluronic acid to the dermis, along with additional substances such as vitamins, amino acids and microelements. By injecting the active ingredients directly into the dermis, the best results are achieved. Needle mesotherapy is performed to reduce skin laxity and improve its condition, so it is used in the case of aging skin, as well as in other areas of the body where there is e.g. cellulite. Another type of treatment is needle-free mesotherapy, during which substances are introduced non-invasively by electroporation. For this purpose, apparatus is used to generate high-frequency electricity, the result of which is a temporary increase in the permeability of cell membranes, so that they can absorb the medicinal substances. There are also sonophoresis, in which ultrasounds are a factor increasing the permeability of membranes, and iontophoresis, which uses electric current to penetrate substances into the skin in the form of ions. Other methods of mesotherapy are microneedle mesotherapy and derma roller, which deliver substances to the skin through the use of a rotating roller equipped with small needles.

Plasma mesotherapy

It is a needle mesotherapy treatment, also known as "vampire facelift". Its specificity lies in the fact that the substance introduced into the skin is plasma (plasma with a high content of thrombocytes). Blood is drawn from the patient undergoing the procedure. Plasma is then obtained by gradient centrifugation and injected into the skin. Thanks to the use of the patient's plasma, there is no risk of an immune reaction, and therefore no allergies or intolerances. This method helps the skin regain its vitality and stimulates collagen production. There are substances in the blood plasma that have the ability to stimulate cells to transform into fibroblasts, whose task is to produce collagen fibers and elastin. This type of mesotherapy works well in the case of skin lacking elasticity, with noticeable signs of aging. "Vampire facelift" can be used prophylactically in people over 25 years of age. However, it is most often performed in patients aged 30-40, and its effects are most visible then. Plasma mesotherapy is not recommended for people over 60 years of age, but these are indicative ranges, because the condition of the skin is the decisive factor. The treatment is also recommended to fill in acne scars, in the prevention of androgenic alopecia or to strengthen weakened hair loss. So it has a wide range of applications, not only for aging skin.

Contraindications

Due to the use of stem cells from the patient's blood, the risk of complications after the procedure is small. However, there is a group of health problems that you should inform your doctor about so that he can make a decision that is right for you. These are blood diseases, various types of skin diseases and inflammations, autoimmune disorders, bacterial and viral infections, blood coagulation disorders and the use of drugs with a coagulating effect, cancer, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The course of the procedure

The procedure begins with the collection of blood from the patient, most often from the cephalic vein, as is the case with morphology. The amount of blood taken varies from 8 to 24 ml. The material is centrifuged to separate the plasma from erythrocytes and leukocytes. The plasma aspirated into the syringe along with platelets is introduced under the skin using microneedles. The injection area depends on the individual patient's skin problems and may differ in puncture density in areas where the formation of wrinkles is more frequent due to increased facial expressions. So these are the areas around the mouth, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the eyes, vertical between the eyebrows and horizontal forehead wrinkles. Local anesthesia is used during the procedure, usually with lidocaine, but for some patients the procedure may seem unpleasant. Plasma is administered deeper than in the case of classic needle mesotherapy with the use of hyaluronic acid. Taking blood together with the procedure usually takes 30 to 45 minutes.

Expected results

Immediately after the procedure, the skin may show puncture marks or slight bruising, which, however, quickly disappear. In the case of skin with high regenerative capacity, the effects may be visible after the first treatment. However, for the best results, it is recommended to repeat the treatments in an amount of 3 to 6, at intervals of 3-4 weeks. In order to maintain the effect, a maintenance procedure is performed 1-2 times a year. The amount required to achieve the desired results depends on the condition of the skin and its regenerative capacity, and may therefore vary from patient to patient.
